Your line of thinking is very helpful to mom and son. As a mom I know I would really appreciate it and he will too! I'm sure he is worried about the two of them.
You can call the hospital about vouchers or look up chain restaurants (they will tire quickly of hospital food) that are local to their home/hospital and to you and that does carry-out (i.e. Applebees, Pizza-Hut, even McD's for the child, etc.) and send them gift cards to that.
Or a gift card to even a local grocery store and specify that you want them to use it for convenience foods that make life easier for mom. I know as a mom I never splurge for those, but sometimes it would be oh-so-nice to get a lasagna already prepared! This would give her permission to do that.

Call the hospital and ask for the dietary department, then ask if gift cards are available to purchase over the phone. If not go to Wal-mart, Target or a store like that a purchase a gift card, send it to the hospital with the patients name and room number. Call to make sure they got it. There are a variety of things a family can use, that a hospital may not have. Good Luck!

Some hospitals offer free TV, some offer only one channel and you pay for extra ones. Call the hospital and ask. If he has a TV/DVd player combo, take him some DVD movies - or you can pay for two months cable TV rental - cost is about the same as flowers and more appreciated. If he's in there for several months, he would also appreciate his favorite magazines being sent to his room. Any of these things saves him and the family some money. If his family is short of cash, you could send them some gift certificates for pizza places, gas, etc....it costs a lot to be visiting regularly. Another wonderful gift would be for you to offer to babysit or arrange to pay for a reliable babysitter so his wife can have ease of mind!

that is so nice of you. you're right, you can buy him some kind of vouchers. because once i heard that some hospitals do have vouchers. if you cant do this then, buy him some gift cards from stop and shop or stores like that so he could give it to his wife and she could buy stuff for home, she can use them for whatever she needs from there. i believe that'll be the best gift for them. well, if you really want to give them gift card then put enough money in that. you wouldnt want them to go to store just for a few bucks. i hope you understand what i mean.
you can give him some flowers when you give him that card. because it looks kind of cheap to give someone only a card. show him some care and love with a few flowers like roses or whatever.
hope you like it.
good luck for you and your friend.

Your friend may not need a present but your thoughts, prayers and well wishes. Take a few minutes each day to reach out to him and his family. They will know that you are thinking of them, and we all like to be remembered. When you can, offer to help with son, his family may appreciate this more that you ever will know. To be able to leave your kids in the care of friends while you get things done is always a great help. I wish your friend a speedy and full recovery

To "Q & a guy": Your argument isn't very valid. even as a woman has conceived a baby, the toddler, obviously, isn't on the on the spot totally grown. It begins off as a fetus without each and each of the particular platforms that you'll see in a human. also, even even as the youngster is born, it maintains to boost. the youngster even finally ends up with more suitable bones than it once had; particular purposes of an toddler's mind get weaker as they grow old too because they finally end up being out of date. As we boost, our cells continually multiply causing us to get more suitable in length, so the concept that all of us began from a unmarried celled organism isn't too some distance fetched. now to not coach, truly some microorganisms that reason ailment evolve as our drugs receives more suitable stepped ahead. it truly is all about the organism adapting so as that it may properly be prior to the game and insure the continuation of the species. EDIT: yet another issue that I forgot to coach is that our "layout" isn't even ideal. we are liable to mutations and diseases. also some aspects of the body are not truly needed; there are some issues that our bodies won't be able to certainly get over to boot. Now to the question: the in reality area of the 'God theory' that looks lifelike is the "enable there be ordinary" issue. perhaps this became likely the massive bang. perhaps this universe became created by threat by technique of a few smart beings or some organic happening phenomenon. perhaps it will take position again. the concept of an omnipotent being has only advanced with mankind over the years to describe what couldn't be defined. Even now after we gained't clarify something we associate it with issues that we are already attentive to.
