Check your fluids first if that doesn't help then may want to take it to Auto Zone ( I think) they will check it for free on the computer and give you an idea of why that Check Engine light is on.

There is no way to manually clear this light without an OBD 2 compatible scanner that can access the ECU to reset the code. There are ways to read the codes via your key switch but I do not know the sequence for Toyota. Depending on what code is setting the light it may or may not clear after a certain amount of cold/hot/cold driving cycles. Either way, something is wrong with your vehicle.

You should be able to take it to any Toyota mechanic, have them hook it up to the computer and disable or reset the check engine light feature. Do not take it to a dealership though, they will not disable it for you.

FYI~Most of the time the check engine light is caused by your gas cap beleive it or not. Make sure after you get gas that when you screw the cap back on it gets a nice tight seal.

Blah blah blah....Go to autozone or a national chain auto parts house. They will loan you an OBDII analyzer that you can clear the code and also see what is causing the problem, contrary to other reports the low fluids doesn't turn that on. It is caused by a bad emissions sensor or fuel problem or vacuum leaks usually.

I found if I don't put my gas cap on correctly the light will come on. It takes a while to go out after I recap it..
