Ok, I have an image I would like to use on a wedding invitation:
http://img103.imageshack.us/img103/3015/image001ef3.jpg

It looks ok on photoshop and in the document but when I print it out it is a little pixely. Is there anything I can do to make it more fluent. I have tried playing around with photoshop but I can't get the desired effect, I am getting it to look too heavy instead of delicate. I have adjusted print quality too, I don't know what else to do??

I know the image is small but I need it that size as it is going above the actual writing for the invitation so I can't really make it any bigger unfortunately. I am quite a novice at photoshop so I don't really know how to do a lot of things.

Hi, First go to "Image Size" and change the resolution to something higher like say 300
Then what I would do is create a new layer and then create a new path from the paths tab.
Use that path to trace over the original image (or a section of the image) using the pen tool and then click on the brush tool. Select a small brush (like a 5 or something) and go to your layers tab and select the new blank layer you created earlier. Then go back to the paths tab and click "stroke path.."
You will end up with a copy of your original image in your new layer but it will not be as pixilated.
You can then use the blur tool and eraser tool to soften the edges. Hope that is of some use!

One more thing! It could just be that your printer settings need adjusting? Can you print at a higher quality setting?

once you inspect "photo length," note the dimensions of the photo up on the genuine. you are able to replace the decision some to flow a touch larger, yet no longer a lot; the picture will only pixelate. you are able to continuously length down yet no longer up. For printing on image paper, you want a minimum of two hundred dpi; ideally three hundred dpi. It sounds like your decision is only too low, yet there are not any large ideas to fix that. once you length your image in inches, you want to modify the dpi so the final photo length is about what it became initially. i'm searching at a photo that has 3.ninety 9 M because the pixel measurement. it truly is three hundred dpi, besides the undeniable fact that it truly is in reality 4.4 inches huge. If i intend to make that 8 inches huge, i favor to reduce the dpi so as that 3.99M parent continues to be about an identical. hence, it truly is 166.5 dpi. That leaves the picture unchanged in words of pixels, besides the undeniable fact that it is going to print more suitable on the web page. The dpi needs to be a touch larger for perfect high quality, besides the undeniable fact that it may properly be ok. when I get the picture to the dimensions i desire in inches, then i could overlay the textual content. If none of this works, you may attempt importing the picture right into a format application like InDesign or QuarkXPress and then masking the textual content.

the image u are wanting to print is small anyway on ur screen (which has a dpi of 72) when printing anything it should be 150 dpi or higher. if u have illustrator then u can put it in that and stretch it without losing some of hte pic. if not let me know and i can see what i can do. must be today since im bored at work....

You need to set your image DPI. This is contained within the Image Size Option. This is not the Canvas Size Option. 300DPI is a good one to use. This is the number of dots per inch printed out Most printers can handle 600dpi and above.

Try to redraw it in Adobe Illustrator if you have that software. Otherwise, open up the image in Photoshop and make it really large, and clean the edges.
