I've read it and I've liked the book-but mind you, I've read it more than once as well. I think the book gives a good account of philosophical history in an interesting context- i'd really liked the story in the story, though it is a cliché. The philosophy side is informative, but I think it's normal if you are confused: It may not be the best book to get started with it.

I read it. I had a philosophy course in the highschool, so I knew everything that was in the book from my course. I both liked it and not. It's a difficult book and in places it complicates it, but I liked the idea of a father wanting to pass his knowledge to his daughter in everyday letters he was writing from a war zone, and not leaking the terrors of war in them.
