I've been shopping for auto insurance quotes online, and I recently came across a site that listed very good prices and quotes. Well, before actually making a decision, I wanted to contact the customer service representatives for the company, in order to ask more questions that were not covered on the website. When I went to look up the number, I found it wasn't listed. Instead, they have a form where you fill out the information (along with your credit card number), and claim they will provide you with a customer service number, after you purchase the plan. I checked the rip off report, and other sites to see if anyone else had a problem with them, but I couldn't find any complaints lodged against them online. So i'm wondering, should I continue to try to research them online, and possibly find a number for them elsewhere, or just write it off as yet another scam? They had REALLY good prices....but I am well aware of the fact that some things are indeed too good to be true.

It does sound like a scam. I don't know what state you are in but I have found an excellent company here in Kansas. I don't know if Farmer's Insurance Group is where you are but I haven't had any problems with them and I would recommend them to anyone.

Sounds like a SCAM and an unprofessional one!
A professional and well-established business will provide you with all required contact info including address, phone numbers, contact persons (if it's a small company or even a big one like www.wiley.com)

Never provide your bank or credit card information to sites that don't have the yellow/gold lock on the right-bottom side of the page requiring your information.

The yellow/gold lock is called SSL and in non-technical terms it is a way to protect your information when you send it to the site and keep it away from prying eyes!

So you ask what's it to do with what you're talking about? Well, people involved in scams don't really care what happens to you and your information! they just want to have your money!!

Yeah, it sounds like a scam to me. This one time I just got this check in the mail, and it said that I won some kind of lottary thing. Then when I tried to cash it, it was a scam. The woman who tried to cash it said that if I wouldn't have left it for them to give to detectives, I could have gone to jail.

Scam. I'd pay a little more for quality anyway, you get what you pay for. I like progressive myself. They are cheaper than my last 2 companies, and they will come to you if you need them.
I would continue to research, but pick someone you can talk to.
