well the name says it all its a test of how good or bad u r.... i mean no matter who u ask will tell u the main win is in the test matches rather than the one-days cas the tests require u to be consistant and competant and this is where we get to differentiate between good player and a bad player...

A "test match" is seen not only in cricket, but also in rugby.

We have tests so that the teacher can identify morons who can't pluralize the word "test" when it should be pluralized.
