Listen, the gym is to work out, not a club to look for a date.
So more likely, you will find there people working out, focusing in their workout, and nothing more.
There will be always people checking out others, like guys like to look at girls when they are dressed with tight pants and sports bra, and girls also look at guys when making big muscles with the weights. But is ok, is just like at any other place: people will always check out other people.
But in general, people at the gym are there to work out, nothing more. So if you go there dress normal (nothing provocative) and work out just like anybody else, you will find out that is not only enjoyable, but also you get to meet new people, and even make good friends.
There might be exercises you can do with your husband, and others where is better to be separate, and is ok. And the best part, is healthy.
You don’t have to go everyday, but if you like to work out, you can set some kind of “agenda” and do some home workout some days, and others just go to the gym and take advantage of the machines in there. Or join some aerobic classes as they are always 100% beneficial for your health (unless you have some medical problem).
Don’t worry too much, go to the gym, and have fun!
PS. Dress with pants that are tight on the top but loose on the bottom. Wear a sports bra and put on a t-shirt on top. My wife wears stuff like that to the gym and she says is very comfortable to work out like that and you don’t have to show your body to no one, still be kinda sexy ;)

Yeah, like others have said, you just do it. You get out of you comfort zone every once in a while, and before you know it, your comfort zone may just expand to a bigger and better size:)
You ever been to the gym? Mostly people who need to go to the gym more often in most gyms. Who are these people you are so afraid of judging you? Just by going you are showing two things: you care about your fitness & you are not socially inhibited. What's wrong with those things?
Aside from all of that, only your ego thinks the world revolves around you; everybody else's ego thinks it's all about them, so folks aren't going to be obsessed with you like you are ... if they even take notice of you. Such is life.

If your husband wants you to join him at the gym you should consider yourself very lucky. He wants to spend time with you doing something that he enjoys. Try it and if it turns out that you really hate it.......then he should be understanding about your feelings. However, it isn't fair for you not to at least try it for a month or two before you make a final decision. Good-luck!

Try wearing baggy clothing (like sweat pants and sweatshirt) so you don't feel people are checking you out. Wear headphones when you are working out seperately.
If you are working out on the same machines as your husband, you will be focused on what you are doing and what he is doing, not on the other people in the gym.

If you are uncomfortable with people looking at you in the gym, wear baggy clothes or something unflattering. It would be a good chance for you and your husband to spend quality time together.

People that go to the gym regularly are worried about themselves. Believe me. We all have image insecurities. Go to the gym and focus on yourself and not everyone else. You will find that the majority of the people in the gym are focused on themselves as well.

Myself, I would cherish my husband including me in on "his" time. Togetherness is what keeps a relationship going. I would have to at least give it a try, if for no other reason than it could be a great way to spend quality time together.

Just go once a week. It will be good time together. Concentrate on your husband and interact with him to help with the discomfort. If you keep doing it you will eventually become comfortable.

You better go right now! Show the 'gym bunnies' that he is taken!
Maybe he needs you there to show them and to keep them away!!
Have I given you enough reasons to get your butt to the gym?? So what are you waiting for?
Look nice when you are there and SMILE! You've got your man with you!
