my 2001 venture van has a ele. problem. when it's dark or if i turn my headlights on and i put my brakes on all my lights come on at the rear back-up, turn, tail and brake lights they're all real dim, and inside it looks like my emergency flashers are on real dim. i don't have any bad bulbs or fuses and i haven't done any wiring on the van. everythings fine in the daytime when i'm not running my
automatic headlights. I'd appreciate any ideals thanks

Somewhere in the electrical system you have a loose or disconnected ground. What is happening is when your lights are on, power instead of going to ground is back feeding into the other electrical circuits and causing them to light up. The only way to fix it is to find that bad ground.

I suspect a bad ground at the rear of your van for the lights.Sounds like it is feeding the other lights to find ground. One other question do you have trailer wiring? This can cause weird things to happen also.Start there,if you have a trailer plug in,if not get your wiring for your lights in the rear checked out.(gm dealer should be able to find it fast)

It sounds like a bad ground...maybe bare wires touching one another or one bad ground wire in the switch.

undesirable battery or connections, 1st get rid of and sparkling the two cables paying particular interest to the constructive cable. if the constructive cable is wrongly corroded, look under the constructive connection on the battery and see if it feels like acid is leaking from the post, if so, replace the battery, if not, resecure the cables and attempt to start, if it starts super it replace into in basic terms a bad connection, if not, leap initiate it and take it in and function it checked. sturdy success.

bad ground. any mechanic worth his salt should be able to track it down quick. once you find it, it's a quick fix. my problem is i could spend all day chasing it and still not find it. i'd take it to a mechanic you trust.
