Yes. I gave a hamster to my 10 year old and she is showing responsibility. She feeds, plays and cleans out the cage all on her own.

Hi! Hamsters do make some noise when they are on their wheel at night, or rumaging around in their cage. But you may find that you like being able to hear him/her and you may be able to sleep through the noise! Give it a go for a week and see how you get on. If Hammie is keeping you awake at night, then you'll have to move the cage into the living room or some other room. I keep my hammie in my bedroom and she doesn't keep me awake.
Even though hamsters are fine left on their own, they are inquisitive and sociable little things! When they hear you enter the room, they will often peek up at the bars to see what's going on. You should also try to hold him/her every day once it has gotten used to you (do this only when your parents are around though, as because you are 10 years old your hands are probably quite small and the hamster can easily jump off and get lost!)
So if you do have to move hammie to another room, make sure that you still see her every day and spend time with her, or she may not like being held very much. You also need to make sure you clean her cage out properly every week and feed her every day. As long as you are happy to look after her properly, it will make a great pet!
xx Emmie

preserving pets a key's in no way a reliable theory. A 13 year previous isn't able to particularly purchase a hamster without an man or woman modern-day. Hamsters, like various pets desire care - food, bedding, toys, treats, cages etc etc, now to not coach vet costs. Will you manage to furnish the hamster each little thing it needs moneywise on my own? At 13 years previous i doubt it. Animals are literally not something you are able to only throw contained in the cupboard once you want to hide it - they prefer ordinary and ventilation - they scent (no longer inevitably a nasty scent, yet an animal scent none-the-a lot less) and they make a noise. the secret gained't stay that way for lengthy... puppy hamsters are frequently loose from ailment, yet look out for a hamster thats lively with magnificent eyes, clean ears, mouth and bottom and no fur loss or cuts etc. Temperature smart, in case you experience too chilly or too warm them your hamster will too. save them out of drafts and direct image voltaic, and make certain there is quite some bedding to make a nest out of. are not getting this kind of 'wonderful' tiny cages only because the animal is small. they are fairly lively and desire truly some area - get the biggest cage you are able to (or maybe an aquarium with a exhibit lid), only pay attention of bar spacing. A cage needs to be wiped clean weekly. Russian dwarfs hamsters are the 'perfect' dwarf species likely, yet in case you want something to address and play with more suitable then flow for a syrian. again inspite of the truth that... in case your father and mom do no longer assist you've a hamster, then are not getting one. you'll in reality be apologetic about it.

My kids have always kept thier hamsters/rats in thier bedrooms. It never hurt but if you are a light sleeper it can be a pain. They will be up and running on thier wheel, chewing stuff and being generally noisy. Most people find this easy to sleep through but some do have problems. So i would say yes its fine if you can deal with the skittering noises

no, no and no! Hamsters make a lot of noise at night as this is when they are at their most active (they sleep most of the day) and will keep y7ou awake at night. I had my first hamster at 10 years old in my bedroom and it only lasted about 2 nights as I was not getting any sleep.

I had hamsters in my bedroom all throughout my childhood, starting from when I was 3 years old.
HOWEVER, they can tend to make a little noise at night. Not too much, but if you like absolute quite while you sleep, you may want to consider keeping it in another room. Otherwise, it’s fine.

Hamsters are very good pets but are wide awake all night. The bedroom may not be the ideal place for it.

yes a hamster's kept in a cage so you can keep it anywhere indoors. As long as it's cleaned out regularly (minimum once a week) it shouldn't smell. Be very wary that there's no way the hamster can get out of the cage - my hamsters made it their life's work to escape and I often had to tie the hatches shut so they couldnt escape

Yep...I had one at that age. BUT they are very smelly, keep it in the laundry room or some where else, but not bedroom! They sleep in the day and are awake at night. Mine was pretty noisy!
The cage has to be cleaned alot...and DO NOT get a plastic cage.Hamsters chew out of them. at least mine did. Hope it help if you have any more questions email me at:
