Depends entirely on why you would want to base your marriage (24 hours a day 7 days a week) on the success or failure of an act that even for very energetic people rarely goes more than 5 hours a week.

168 hours a week - 5 for sex and - 56 for sleeping = 107 hours.
Take out a 40 hour a week job and a 2 hours a day commute = 57 hours.

What the heck are you going to do married for 57 hours a week and you have already slept made love and gone to work?

Oh, yeah. If its "Had sex" you are doomed. If its "Made love" then you are in with a chance. There is a hell of a difference.

For life. Marriage is about so much more than sex. However, sex is important and you should do all that you can to keep it exciting. If sex is the primary focus in someone's relationship, then perhaps they shouldn't get married. That way when they get bored they only have to break up with the person. Hopefully no children will be hurt and you won't have to hire a divorce lawyer.

Marriage is for life, it's not a buffet dinner, you like some bits and dislike the others. You have to accept all the challenges that it brings and know that the good and bad experiences all add up. Sharing your life with someone and being committed to them against all odds is deep, that's why it's not advisable to rush into it because it's not just about sex, in fact there comes a stage when sex plays a minor role. It's about companionship, loving, respect and sharing.

It should be for longer than when the sex life gets boring. You must be male as you are thinking through your pants. Sex gets boring for females when the male is boring. So tricky dicky when your marriage gets sticky you try to stop being a thicky and get out of the bedroom and be nice to your wife!

They say that sex isn't important, but i think it is. If you're not compatible then it won't work. Christ knows how many years and how many relationships i went through thinking it was ok only for the ultimate split up. Now i have a totally compatible partner and i know for a fact it will hold us together for the rest of out lives.

It should be for life because YOU shouldn't let the sex get boring. The more you know about each other, the more exciting the sex can be.

Marriage is a union that God gave man & woman. It is supposed to be for life but doesn't always work out that way. You can keep the sex exciting if you put effort in.

When I took my marriage vows I can remember saying I take you to be my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward as long as we both shall live. There certainly wasn't a "or until the sex gets boring" opt out!!

It depends on what you want out of your marriage? If you just want an exciting sex life, then believe me it will get boring! But if you want to build lasting, loving relationships, have children and enjoy your grandchildren someday, seek professional help. God invented sex and marriage (see Gen.1), but the devil is doing his best to destroy everything good God has made. Seek to serve and really give unselfish love - what comes back to you will be of more value than a few minutes of "hot sex."
