RE:
spark plugs calibration ?
I know this will sound stupid for some of you but how do you calibrate your spark plugs I already buy one of those gap things but how you do this you just open and close the wire or you have to twist it or how you do it if you have a web page where I can learn this you will be really helpful,...

just insert and remove the gapper wire once between the electrode and metal conductor. There should be a small amount of resistance. The idea is that the width of the wire on the gapper is how much space there will be beteen the electrode and metal conductor. There is nothing to "twist". If you accidently make the gap on the spark plug too large you can simply push the metal against a hard surface and bend it back down, then re-space it using the gapper. If the plugs are "platnum" they should not need to be gapped as they are pre-set at the factory.

the thing your calling calibrating spark plugs is actually not as complex as it sounds. first off you need to know if your running the right temp plug in your vehicle. like is it the right temp range. too hot or too cold will effect the overall performance of the engine. then there's setting the right gap between the electrode and grounding strap. that soley depends on what the manufacture recommends as well as what aftermarket modifications you have done to the vehicle. like adding aftermarket ignition systems, nitrous oxide, turbo's, superchargers. there's also the thing called indexing the plug to get the most performance out of it. that is done with indexing shims between the plug and plug hole. there's pretty much an exact science to it. I run several differnt race cars and engine combinations and always set gaps to best performance and index for better combustion. i hope that this is some help to you.

Gently bend the wire that is bent over the end of the electrode to the proper gap. If it is to wide tap the plug on a piece of wood or with a screwdriver handle to close the gap, then start over.

Most modern plus come pre-set. Is a very easy procedure. but hard to describe. I would take a plug and your Gage to the place where you bought your plugs and have them show you. Should only take 2-3 minutes tops.

Just open & close it, the most common setting is straight across - level. Most sparkplugs come preset.
