Requirments for CA Catalytic converters.?

Question

I bought a 94 dodge ramvan that came to California from Montana, it's missing the cat. What are the requirments for an aftermarket cat in CA. Can I use a cat off an 80's dodge? Or will any OBDII compliant cat will work?

As long as it meets all requirements it should work. Use caution about used cats though no telling how clogged they are. Most parts stores can get you one for a reasonable price or there is always places like Midas.

if you have to go and put one on the not put a used one on ......go to a auto parts store and buy one it will save you time a money in the long run
