He's already capped for the US, and is currently playing on the US U20 squad. But since his senior cap was for a friendly match, he is still eligible to play competively with Ghana, his country of birth, if he choses to do so.

Because Bruce Arena did not want him on the team. He said if they do not start for their club they would not be on the team. Now that Bruce is gone you will start to see Freddie play with the National team. It makes no sense to put him on yet. Let him play in the Under 20's to gain more confidence and skill. He is a very skilled player. I would say that at the beginning of 2008 he will play in some games.

because to this point he has not been one of the best options

Donovan, Reyna, O'Brian and Pablo brought more to the table

this will change soon enough. I expect we'll soon be seeing a center midfeild of Freddy, Micheal Bradly, Feilhaber ect...

one must also note that in the States in will no longer suffice to be a very good player, you have to be great to stand out amongst the competition.

PS the USA is up against Brasil in the U20 cup !

He is currently playing on the US under 20 team, preparing for the world cup in Canada. At this point that suits him well. He will have his day.

cuz he ain't good

If the USA wants a shot at international glory, they have to get their players overseas to play real football. The Beckham League is not going to cut it.
