I think anything that can be done to promote voting by young people is a good thing. I suggest townhall meetings on TV every week throughout the year on MTV to discuss politics would be a good idea. It would work for older folks also if done on network TV.

I personally think the less young people who vote the better. When we live in a nation made up of reality shows and gangsta rap we see on television, and we fall into false idols such as Paris Hilton, Brittany Spears, Justin Timberlake, and so on.... I don't think we're smart enough to choose what is best for this country.

Tell me.... With your reality show experience backing this thought... What percent of Americans have at least one million dollars at hand to spend on personal entertainment?

Reality? What is it's true nature?

We'll never see an American Idol show where teenage guys and gals are debating on issues in the world, and the winner gets some type of grant for college, but no matter... We can watch these hot guys and gals, and these less good looking guys and gals on American Idol.... Cause singing and dancing is the true talents that keep our great country alive in the eyes of todays youth.... Which is not necessarily a bad thing.

It's not the job of the media to get people to vote but I think the best way would be to provide better information. Stop talking about Bush mangeling english or Howard Deans shout and start talking about thier voting records.

Well I guess first of all they would have to work a little harder to let us know how candidates vote on certain issues to maybe get us involved instead of the in depth reporting they usually do like: who's Anna's baby daddy. Even if you do catch some political news it's all just opinionated. Right smears left, left smears right, such is the news.

young people should not vote. they do not have the intelligence nor the mental capacity to vote for someone who is qualified. for the most part they vote according to their idealistic wants instead of this countries needs. most young people are dem. only because they believe the government should care for the young/old/disabled/you name it minority whereas most older folks are rep. mainly because they have worked for their money and do not want to "give" it away. if you vote you should be able to understand the obligations and repercussions and most people under 21 don't. it is sad but i think we have lost the ability to appreciate our past and think our future is owed to us.
