2004 Nissan Maxima 3.5 Litre.
I recently purchased a 2004 Nissan Maxima. Every time I step on the accelerator heavy, the front tires spin, and it makes a thumping noise in the front end.

I am wondering if this is a sign of bad struts unable to keep the front tires down.

Thank you,
Phil

You can do a bounce test. What you do is go to each of the four corners of the car and push down three or four times and get the car bouncing. Then let go and watch how many times it bounces back. It shouldn't bounce more than once. If it does the shock or strut on that wheel is worn and needs replacing.
