On www.dea.org it says
"It is both the most abused and the most rapidly acting of the opiates."
of heroin, but I think the figures wouldn't be entirely right because heroin is the one you would notice most and get addicted to and ill because of...I don't know a single person taking heroin but I know several with marijuana and cannabis.
I guess that's not much of answer though ^^

You could always put in your research paper about how heroin and cocaine are probably the only ones taken seriously and marijuana etc are more 'common' and almost on the same level as smoking.
