Generally, most rabbits don't like to be picked up. They prefer to be left on the floor or whatever and just be petted. Rabbits get very scared very easily. Mine is super friendly, but he gets spooked by noises and he prefers that I don't carry him around too much.

I got a few books on rabbits and found alot of helpful info here on yahoo answers to help understand..
I did spay my lil rabbit but she can still be feisty at times but not even close to like before..

How old is your bunny? Is it a female? A lot of female rabbits (Does) get "hyper" around 5-7 months of age from the flood of hormones their body is getting. She can't help it. Suddenly, your sweet gentle little fuzzy girl is acting like a wild animal. Have patience with her. If it is hormaone based, give her a month or so to grow up and mature. Give her as much attention as she wants, no more. A lot of the does get territorial about their cages at this age. She won't let you put your hand in to clean, or pet her. She may "box" you with her paws or even charge you. You have to be the one in control and let her know this behavior is not acceptable. Remove her from the cage and pet her. Then put her back. Do this often... You have to let her know that you are going to handle her (for her own good!) when ever you want. Otherwise you'll have a bunny that can not sit still for a nail trim or get handled incase of injury or illness.

If you can get a second rabbit i would suggest Flemish Giants as pets. They are the biggest of the bunny breeds and are super friendly. I have two toddlers and they flip and jump all around her and she doesn't even flinch. I even put a giant rectangular box out and my son crawled through and she went crawling in after him it was so cute.

It depends on their personality. My 2 old rabbits have very good temper, but my new rabbit (2 years old) is just like yours.Just let her be,but you still have to spend time playing with her.

i know what you mean, I've had my hamster for 2 years but it still gets abit scared (not as much as it use to though). I don't know why your rabbit's acting like that. Maybe you should spend some more time with her or him.

It depends on the rabbit, my bunny Cadbury was very aggressive, however I got another one Bella who was a cuddle bunny very sweet and loved to be petted.
Maybe you could try treats.

rabbits are prey animals and many fear being picked up. They liken it to being carried off by an owl or other predator. Spaying helps aggression, but enjoy watching your bunny on the floor. If you lie there with her, she might hop up to you and give you bunny kisses!

Well, I doubt you can stop her from not wanting to be held... but if it makes it difficult for nail-clipping, etc, put her in a trance. Hold her, not too tight but so she doesn't jump out from your arms. Then, hold her hind legs with one hand while placing her head area in your elbow. Like holding a baby. Then rub her face and nose/ cheek area. It works for my bun, and she's restless as well. Hope it helps, good luck !
