Yes! And what I really hate is when old farts say "you're too pretty too be smoking those things". Like if I was ugly, it would be ok lol. I usually respond with "well, everytime I try to quit smoking I go right back to the crack". That usually shuts them up.

I'm going to give another take on this:
Personally, I don't care if you kill yourselves or live until you're 100 and are still smoking. That's your choice, and I've known several people to go either way with smoking. But what I DON'T like is when other people light up right next to me, and even after I start coughing and inching away (I'm pretty much allergic to cigarette smoke, but I try to be courteous and not rude), they continue to blow it my way (and my 2 year old daughter's way, she's a baby after all!). Secondhand smoke HAS shown to be dangerous, and what IS offensive is that many of the smokers I've known are not conscious of that fact. Nobody really cares if YOU smoke, but if WE choose not to, it's rude to blow it in our faces anyway.
Another point to make: most hospitals ask you not to smoke because secondhand smoking IS almost as debilitating as smoking, and many people are sick - and can get sicker if their immune systems are compromised. Restaurants that claim to be "separated" usually AREN'T, and allergic people don't need to be sneezing, wheezing, and coughing because YOU start smoking during a meal.
Basically, most of us don't care if YOU smoke or not, so long as you're not forcing it on US by blowing it in our faces or lighting up during a meal when the restaurant is OBVIOUSLY not separated for it. I agree that a little courtesy on BOTH sides would be nice.

I don't hate them but I do get irritated by them. I also get irritated by the people that are absolutely horrified that the restaurant I work in has a smoking section. They just want an excuse to b*tch.
Have you ever seen the South Park episode with Rob Reiner...lmao, that is one of my favorite episodes.
They might as well outlaw pets too. Do you know how many people walk around with dog/cat hair on their clothes...it's disgusting, and the smell is much worse than stale cig., not to mention some people have allergies to animal hair.

The only thing worse than a non-smoker is an ex-smoker!
They all smoked 5 packs of Camel non-filtered a day for thirty years, and quit cold turkey when they found out their great grandfather had lung cancer at the tender age of 85!

Because people LOVE telling others what to do. It's not like we haven't heard it all before. I love that South Park with Rob Riener too. LMAO....that's how those people are. Like in the truth ads. Why don't they talk about crack, coke, heroin, LSD, meth, or something else that is destroying society. Smoking does not make me want to commit crimes to feed my habit. If anything it makes me a more calm, likable person.

I know, it is so irritating. Some days when I get sick of hearing that, I just tell them its a free country and that it is my choice to smoke.

like the untouchables in india, we are treated like the scum of the earth. there is hardly a single place to go that anti-smoking rules and regulations aren't imposed. i am personnaly tired of ducking out for a cigarette while at work. at home, my smoking is confined to our sunporch (which is not heated) because our dog is allergic to cigarette smoke.
