i asked a question about wearring earrings you're allergic to. then one of the answers said that i can put clear nail varnish on the post of the earring if i'm allergic to them.

is it safe?? i'd love to try that but my skin is so sensitive so i don't want to risk it unless i know it's safe.

Thanx alot!! Plz tell me if u've ever tried and the results.

Hi

Im allergic to certain metals and I tried this once and it still caused me allergy so I wouldnt try it if you are very senstive like me.

I find I can wear sterling silver ones. It tends to be cheap style earrings I cant wear. I cant wear 9 carat gold either for some odd reason. I often buy cheap hook type earrings and take off the cheap hook and replace it with a sterling silver one then I can wear them with no probs.

You can buy packs of earrings hooks in the metal you can wear - sterling silver or 9carat or 18 carat gold etc from places like ebay.

This is the best way I find and the cheapest way :)

I would never NEVER put nail varnish on the post of an earring even if your allergic to it. That is a horrid idea and could cause even more infections then normal. Instead buy new earrings. It will save you a lot of pain.

I can only wear gold earrings. If I wear anything else my ears crust up and I have bleeding. If you are really allergic then you need to wear the right metal. I dont think nailpolish would work.

It works for some but not for others. What you can do is try it at home and see how you react to it. Also, it may not work for all earrings because there may be too many alloys in some and not as many in others. You'll have to test them very carefully for yourself.
