Are the videos on Youtube copyright? Can I just use any of them for a school project or do I have to ask for permission. I'm not using anything for commercial use. The people who posted the videos knew they weren't going to get money for what they made anyway so there's no problem right?

YouTube's operators constantly are removing those videos that are copyright-protected. Ergo, once uploaded onto YouTube, and after a suitable period whereby they can determine the copyright status of a particular video, the assumption must be that they are now in the public domain and are therefore available for use without due consideration of profit to YouTube as they are compensated by advertisers for their use on the website.

Now, if in doubt, contact the video's originatore for permission.

Best advice, You ask the "producers" of those little videos.
There are IDs like E-Mail-addresses.. Good luck.
