SEC - They have three teams in the top 15 RPI rankings. If Florida, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Georgia, and Kentucky didn't have to play each other twice a year they would all be ranked higher. They knocked each other out of good seeding. Out of 2 game series this year between these teams - Tennessee and Florida split, Kentucky and Tennessee split, Vanderbilt and Florida split, Vanderbilt and Georgia split, Tennessee and Vanderbilt split, Georgia and Kentucky split. The only sweeps out of those top 5 SEC East teams were Tennessee over Georgia, Florida over Kentucky, and Vanderbilt over Kentucky. How is that for parity?

Besides all of that confusion, the SEC has the best non-conference record as a whole vs . other big conferences. #1 in RPI the majority of the year as well as this week. Have not been below #3 in RPI rankings as a conference all year.

fyi......sec has 3 teams in the top ten of RPI (8,9,10 tenn, kentucky, florida), not top 15, but it still isnt the best from top to bottom.......that just means they played the best schedules out of conference and in conference.

the best from top to bottom is the acc i believe. they should get the most tournament teams and they had a crazy tie situation for the regular season championship that went right down to the wire (5 teams involved).

however, i think the best basketball is being played in the big 12 with kansas, texas, and texas a&m. a case for this could also be made for the big ten with wisconsin and ohio state.

i think a month ago people would have said the pac 10 hands down was the best, but some of the teams have fallen off since then

ADDITIONAL.............to below about conference USA........they have 6 top 25 teams in what sport? baseball, rowing, lacrosse? what are you talking about? we are talking about basketball and they are the worst conference in the country. they dont have any other teams anywhere near the top 25 besides memphis. are you sure you didnt mean the big east???

I think it has to be the ACC. When Duke is ranked 14th in the nation and they are the 6th best team in the conference that says something about the competition. The Big 12 and Big East are in a close second. The Big 10 and SEC dissapointed me this year.

I'm going to say Conference USA. People don't give them enough credit but they have 6 top 25 teams now and usually do well in the tournament.

great Ten no question. i'm a ACC fan myself yet you are able to't deny a collection like Michigan State returning the final public of their starters, jointly with an All American. as nicely to Michigan state you have a revived Indiana application, a continuing Michigan group, a mature Minnesota group and as continuously a tricky Penn State club. The convention as an entire is stable this year. Jay Bilas (ESPN) ranked them first this year himself.

I HATE the ACC -- actually, that's WAY too mild -- but you have to say they are having a pretty damn good year. I mean, where did UVa & Virginia Tech come from?!

None of the other conferences are having anything near the year the ACC is having.

(Now I'm going to throw up.)

I'd have to go with the Big 12 probably. Normally it would be the ACC or Big East, but they have definitely underperformed this year. Big 10 was also disappointing.

Big 10. Even though the Minnesota Golden Gophers looked like a high school team this year.

ACC. They dominated the other conferences in head to head matchups and have the best RPI ratings.
