In the semi and quarter finals teams from the same league can play each other I think they just pick the games at random.

they seed the teams but when it's quarter final or semi final it doesn't work
they just go according to their tournament program so it'spossible Inter vs.Milan or Barsa vs.Real it happened a lot of times and it makes the soccer much more interesting
