Growing up in Wyoming we had both...a country boy is the type that helps his momma carry things from the car...fixes the neighbors fence without neighbor asking him too....speaks politely and always remembers his upbringing. His heart is forever with his hometown no matter where he ends up(usually doesnt go far). On the other hand, a redneck is usually a lazy s.o.b. that never remembers his manners, curses his momma for not giving him a $20 for the titty bar, usually runs down his neighbors fence while trying to run down neighbors cat....and gets kicked out of small town rather then get lynched. Thats my experience anyhow. Hope that helps. Which one are you?

Originally, a redneck was a farmer who s neck was sunburned from working the fields in the sun. Through the years that took on another meaning, which people do not seem to think of in a nice way.

Your basically right Country is good southern, redneck is trashy southern. So anyone saying you are a redneck, doesn't know the difference. Example country is having an old "fixer-upper" car/truck in the garage that you actually fix up because you enjoy that kind of stuff. Redneck is having 5 "fixer-upper" cars/trucks, that you actually don't fix up but refuse to get rid of, and they are located in your yard.

I picture a redneck as some sort of hillbilly who smells nasty and has missing teeth lol A country boy (to me) is a true man. On one hand they are badasses and on the other they have a soft side. My country boy isnt afraid to get dirty (he takes me wheeling, dirt biking, and camping constantly), knows how to have fun, cares deeply about his family, is work oriented, and looks the part (cut off T's, a farmers tan, and huge muscles :D). The trucks and the dippin just pull it all together. LOVE IT (:

I agree w/ you 100% Country boys make me think of cowboys or boys that work on a farm. Rednecks remind me of white trash.

Literally no..I'm a redneck chic...the difference is..country boys are the ones who walk around listening to country and enjoying the farm life. While rednecks work there asses off..party like there's no tomorrow..and we are fearless and do stupid reckless **** that country folks are afraid to do. Our ideas of fun are different. Country-bonfire sing some songs hang out and have fun. Redneck-bonfire, beer, blast music, and blow **** up, (firecrackers in bouncy balls are the best)
