I won the system at a raffle and it seemed to work fine. I have only one game, Need for Speed Carbon. It worked for a while but now when I put it in it thinks it is a DVD. If it happens to load correctly, it says there is a disc error. The game itself was bought new and does not appear to be damaged. Is the Xbox not reading the disc properly or is the game just damaged? How do I go about fixing this?

I think the XBox is damaged. That's probably why they gave it away in a raffle with maybe a quick temporary fix.

The game disc sounds fine...so that's not the problem.

Here is a VERY HELPFUL site that will give you instructions (CHECK IT OUT):

Well i had this happen with the SAME exact game i have about 20. But only a promblem with that game, try shutting it down a waiting a minute and then try it again. Returning/Exchanging an xbox is a pain in the butt.

I'm not sure what the exact problem is but I had a similar issue with mine. Contact Microsoft and alert them to the issue, from there they should give you some info on how to send it to them so you can obtain warranty work.

I think that your disc has drity, so check it out. Or do you buy it @ Wal Mart. My friend told me that Wal Mart is selling fake Xbox 360.

It may not appear to be damaged but obviously is inside so take it back and exchange it.
