As you get heavier, you should try not to sleep on your back because the weight of the baby compress the arteries leading to the womb and can deprive the baby of oxygen and it will also comress the veins. As for sleeping on your stomach, you shouldn't for obvious reasons, it could harm the baby as you get bigger if you continue to sleep on your stomach, but you will also start becoming uncomfortable on your stomach as you get bigger, it would be like sleeping on a ball. You should prop yourself with pillows. For me a soft body pillow and another pillow for my back would help me to stay on my side since I am also a back sleeper. Here is a link that tells you about sleeping positions recommended by doctors while pregnant.

You're fine. The day it is uncomfortable for you to sleep on your belly (and oh, that day will come), stop doing it.
It won't hurt your baby, he or she is nice and padded in there.
I really don't think you should worry (my doctor always told me not to), but you could try propping your body in a way that kind of keeps you from rolling over (use pillows to kind of wedge yourself into another position.)
While sleeping on your belly won't hurt the kid, there are some suggestions that sleeping on your back can do something, but I can't remember what... I think it had to do with blood flow.
Anyway, don't worry, sleep in any way you can and still be comfortable... sleeping in any position will be a thing of the past soon enough.

I So hear ya! i had always slept on my stomach and i did still do it during pregnancy and i feel bad about it, so i would use a pillow as an anchor sorta under my stomach sleeping sideways and it worked beautifully. If i wanted to sleep on my stomach the pillow reminded me not to roll on to my stomach because it was in the way. Good luck.

I have never heard you couldn't sleep on your stomach just not on your back. I slept on my side more toward my stomach almost all the way through my pregnancy. When you get further along your body will tell you if it's not ok to sleep on your tummy cause it will not feel right.

I am a stomach sleeper and it was hell when I was pregnant that I couldnt and sleeping on my back was painful because of the weight. I put a pillow on my belly to keep me from rollling on my stomach and a pillow on my back for the same reason so a side sleeper I became until after the birth!

well, the worst position is your back because it compresses your superior vena cava (major vein going to your heart), and makes breathing very difficult.
the only reason that experts suggest not to sleep on your stomach is purely out of discomfort. you can't "squish" or hurt the baby by sleeping on your stomach. but if you are really freaked out, or just want to ease into sleeping on your side, try laying your stomach, and proping a leg up on a pillow, making your body look like a lower-cased "h." i do this, and it is so comfortable.

If you don't want to do this anymore take some pillows and place them around you so it makes it more difficult to roll. I think that if sleeping on your stomach isn't uncomfortable it shouldn't be a big problem but it should be avoided.
