i think that buddy holly has meant a lot to rock and roll and music as a whole. i feel like im the only one who apperciates what this talented musician did in only a few years before his tragic death in an airplane crash. I also think that The Buddy Holly Story movie should be remade. Tell me what you think

I agree with you, it is a shame he had to die at such a young age, his influence to rock rock & rolls is imeasurable. The Movie was great and I think a remake of his story would be a great thing for young people to see.

Omg..no...That truly is the day the music died. What would have happened if they all were alive today? The face of music would have been alot different. My mom is a huge Buddy fan. She wished she could have went to the walk of fame there in Lubbock when she was visiting family years ago in New Mexico. Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper are still missed. Why not remake that move? Old ones are being remade..old classics. So I will be happy to pay an arm and a leg to go see the new movie.

I too appreciate Buddy Holly as a cornerstone and a co-founder of Rock-N-Roll. The same way I can appreciate that maybe Little Richard might be the true King of Rock-N-Roll and not just some footnote. Who knows what Buddy would have done if he had lived.

If there is an under appreciation, it's with the consumers. The vast majority of rock musicians, musician of any ilk are aware and appreciative of Mr. Holly's contribution. His music has inspired rock since it first came out - I suspect it will continue to do so for a long, long time.
