i currently have wirless internet with a download speed of 256k. i use it mainly for xbox live, and its way to slow. another company in my area offers three different download speeds....3mb, 4mb, and 5mb. Which is faster of these, 256k wireless or the others offered which are cable. And how fast will they work for xbox live? Which speed would you recommend for it?

I had 3mb speed with cable and was able to play an online game with 64 players, the game was Battlefield 2, and never had a problem. If you can afford the higher speeds, like 4mb or 5 mb them get it.
Check the monthly prices of each one, and go with what you can afford, 3mb is plenty fast enough to play any game you have.....

You barely have High Speed internet with 256k down speed. I would go with any of the options 3mb - 5mb, you will see a great performance increase with all of them.

wireless connections only have a certain connection speed, cable internet and wired internet ( using an Ethernet cable to connect to the modem) is going to be faster than any wireless signal

mine uses 49.2 pbs and it runs fine and my laptop is 15 years old.

ILD RECOMMEND THE 5MB ONE, BUT ILD ALSO MAKE SURE IT HAS UNLIMITED DOWNLOADS.
