Nope, at least not yet.

The bottom line: Line play wins games.

Their O-line is horrible, and their D-Line can't stay off the field long enough to rest and keep them in games.

A mobile QB will help, but if they don't get the O-line in shape, the running game will suffer again, and they'll be only marginally better.

Al Davis needs to go...

Porter is cancer, he needs to go...

your a little off as far as there major needs. First of all, Moss is gone. It's going to happen. If they can steal Matt Schaub for Moss that would be a steal. There biggest needs are at o-line obviously, and at WR with Moss and Porter on there way out. Taking Calvin Johnson #1, trading Moss for a solid QB, sign and draft solid linemen, and as long as the D can play the way they did last year, then the Raiders would be lookind good. Not quiet a winning record, but 7-8 wins this year would be a huge improvement. Why they let Steinbach and Davis slip through there fingers I'll never know.

Not this season. Even if they do get JaMarcus Russell and a quality RB, they will still need a WR since Randy Moss wants out of Oakland and Jerry Porter is still a big question mark. Maybe in the 08 season they will improve but the Raiders can forget about the playoffs much less a winning season for at least this year.

I think that if the Raiders avoid being the worst team in the league again, they should consider this season a success. A winning record? In the AFC? Not gonna happen.

I think JaMarcus Russell would throw some nice bombs to Moss and create some upsets. But they would definitely need a decent RB to even pull off 4 wins. They won't get Marshawn Lynch or Adrian Peterson in the draft, and there really isn't a top-notch draft available in free agency, so I'm pessimistic.

For me, however, the coaching situation is as big of an issue as the "skill positions." Lane Kiffin has never been a head coach, and never coached in the NFL. He's younger than several of his players. Considering how much trouble the Raiders had respecting seasoned NFL coaches (albeit with weak personalities) Norv Turner and Art Shell, I have to wonder what kind of respect Kiffin will get.

Keep in mind Kiffin wasn't a Mike Tomlin or a Jason Garrett; youngsters who wowed owners in their interviews so much that they had to be hired (and Garrett didn't even get a head coaching job). Kiffin was a backup option after several interviewees decided Oakland was too ugly a situation and they didn't want to coach there.

Not exactly a winning season but better than last years. If they get JaMarcus Russel and some good RB then maybe. Yes they had the worst 2-14 record but their defense was statistically third best in the entire NFL. They need a O-line first to block for Russel then they will be better. That or git rid of Al Davis. Predicted record 5-11 or 6-10.

Moss is no longer any good, what they need to do is draft Jamarcus Russell, and try to add a guy like Antonio Bryant, Joe Horn, or some physical reciever to let Moss do nothing but well run in a straight line all game evry game... Let Porter do his thing jus running his short - middle range routes and let say Joe Horn, or Antonio Bryant be the hands guy running shorter routes, Todd Blythe out of Iowa State could fill this role too... They should try to add some free agent o-linemen like Zach Piller to help shore that up and provide some blocking for Lamont Jordan and Jamarcus Russell... They could also really use a good tight end as a sort of end zone target or safety valve... They could also add a guy like Chris Brown and use a 2 back system with Jordan and the other guy, and the defense is alright, just the offense needs HUGE WORK...

No, they have to go through and totally redo their entire offensive line(it is literally offensive)and then get lucky with free agency and find a QB because Jarmarcus Russle or Quinn won't become their savior that quickly. They really need to find an offensive line and a decent running back and let Russle or Quinn develop and maybe then they will have a winning season in a couple years.

Wouldn't they need a good WR as well? Moss is over rated and if he is the one you are calling good you are a fool. If the Raiders stole a new offense they may be good.

The Raiders biggest problem last year was their OL. Until they repair that it will not matter who they have at QB, RB, or WR.

at home they play Denver, Kansas City, San Diego, Houston, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Chicago, Detroit
I'd say if they improve they'll probably beat detroit, cleveland, and houston, so that'll give them three wins away they play Denver, Kansas City, San Diego, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Miami, Green Bay, Minnesota i'd say it's possible they beat minnesota (although not likely) so i'm thinking instead of 2-14 they'll be 4-12, but on a positive note, they really can't do much worse then last year.
