I don't understand why Europeans especially hate Jews?

It began with the covenant between Abraham and God. Abraham was the father of God's chosen people (Jews) through his offspring. His offspring would be blessed. Abraham and his wife Sara were to have a son which would be named Isaac. Sara was old and afraid that she would not bear a son, so she gave her handmaiden Hagar (sp.?) which did bear a son Ishmael. Sara eventually did bear a son. Now Sara did not like that Hagar had a son and treated them unkindly. They were cast out. Now because of the covenant God had made with Abraham, he did make his other son Ishmael blessed. This is where you get Arab not liking Jews, as a general rule. Now to explain the European Christians and Jews. Jesus was crucified by his own people, the Jews. Now what most people do not realize is that is was a fulfillment of prophecy and Jesus did not die as a result of what the Jews did....Jesus died to pay for all our sins: past present and future. We all had a hand in his death. The only one without sin was the only one who could sacrifice Himself so that through Him we will have eternal life.

Simple question, with a long, 1000s of years of history answer. Same reason people tend to hate other races & religions, I guess. Because they are different. The Europeans hating on Jews are likely Christian or Muslim, I'm guessing...

I don't hate Jews but some people just need a purpose. Shamefully, some people, if they didn't hate jews, they would find something else to hate. That is the same thing with peoples food. They like it till they found out where it came from. just sad, i think.

Historians have classified six explanations as to why people hate the Jews:
Economic -- "We hate Jews because they possess too much wealth and power."
Chosen People -- "We hate Jews because they arrogantly claim that they are the chosen people."
Scapegoat -- "Jews are a convenient group to single out and blame for our troubles."
Decide -- "We hate Jews because they killed Jesus."
Outsiders -- "We hate Jews because they are different than us." (The dislike of the unlike.)
Racial Theory -- "We hate Jews because they are an inferior race."

Every other hated group is hated for a relatively defined reason. Jews, however, are hated in paradoxes: Jews are hated for being a lazy and inferior race - but also for dominating the economy and taking over the world. They are hated for stubbornly maintaining their separateness - and, when they do assimilate - for posing a threat to racial purity through intermarriages. They are seen as pacifists and as warmongers; as capitalist exploiters and as revolutionary communists; possessed of a Chosen-People mentality, as well as of an inferiority complex. It seems that they just can't win.

So there are various reasons for why Jews are hated and they differ from culture to culture. One of the more famous and relevant is the false story of how the Jews killed Jesus, even though historically there is no truth to this. Today anti-semetism is rampant mostly through-ought the Muslim world and is fed by false blood libels and the demonetization of the state of Israel. Anti-semetism is based on irrational and false accusations on how a group of 13 million people claim to take over and corrupt the world. Most cultures who have harbored anti-semetic leanings have done this to scapegoat the Jews as an effort to create a common enemy and blind the masses to the true troubles of the country. In short Jews are hated because they are an easy target and many cultures still have an irrational hate and loathing of Jews from generations past.

FYI, the conception of the Jews as "God's chosen people" is something of a mistranslation... more accurately, they are the "choosing people," the people who have "chosen God"... they have elected to follow what they believe is God's instructions to them.
It's like Yahweh was setting up a baseball team and said, "Okay, these are my rules, who wants to be on my team (instead of being on Allah's team, Jesus's team, a pagan team, etc)?" and the people who signed up for his team became the Jews. So it's not necessarily that they are God's favorites, they just signed up to be part of his posse.

Feh. I never got it myself. I think that if you are going to be prejudiced against Jews, you should be prejudiced against all Monotheists who follow the god of Abraham, but mostly it's other Abrahamicists who have this prejudice.

Maybe they feel bad because the god of Abraham talked to the Jews personally and everyone else had to get prophets and avatars and meat puppets.

Because Hitler told them too! Who knows. I think deep down it has to do with the fact that in the Bible, they were God's chosen people and the rest of the world seems to have a problem with that.

They probably hate jews because their parents told them to hate jews and people these days can't use their own minds. it's sad.
