I've had a few problems with Internet-based services. In one case, I signed up for a storage service but when I emailed requests to cancel my account (there was no phone number given), I got no response and got charged for several months. In another case, I signed up for an Internet fax service. When i wanted to cancel, I was required to start a live chat session with their agent. The session wouldn't load properly so I sent my request through the contact form in my account panel. I kept getting billed and when i complained, they said they had no record of my cancellation request .

After a lot of hassle, I have finally cancelled both services. But both companies aren't issuing refunds. I've complained to the Better Business Bureau (LA Area) but haven't even received an acknowledgement of my complaint. When I followed up, I didn't even receive a response to my enquiry.

I'm an international customer, so perhaps the BBB won't do anything for me. Is there anything else I can do?

Your bank or credit card should have a way to dispute any charges.
