self-centered?

A friend of mine asked me if I thought that she was self-centered? What exactly does self-centered consist of?

Someone who is self centered believes the world revolves around him/her and when an issue comes up, they automatically wonder and ask how it effects them, without showing concern for others. They focus their attention on what they can get out of something, and how they can be benefitted from something. Self-centered is a fancy way of saying selfish and self-absorbed, someone fully into themselves, not giving much ado about other people. It's sad because some people use it out of it's original meaning and hurt other people. I know someone (actually a couple someones) who is/are extremely self-centered and when he hurts someone emotionally, and they have a talk with him about it, the first thing he says is "what about me, what about my feelings?" it's ridiculous and soooo unattractive to be like that. No one wants to be around someone that doesnt care about others. Use the word wisely around someone, because sometimes it can help people to know this, and others it can really offend them. Self centered is when you think of nothing but yourself. How you want things and not about the other people you might be hurting in order to get it. It is when you think the world is centered around you and everything should be done in the way you want it.

Self centered people tend to place the blame on anyone else but themselves, and in a fight they might say things to direct that blame to someone else.
