With Real ID we will be tracked by the government. With National Animal Identification System we will lose the right to own property without being subject to undue government surveillance. Through the efforts -cooperative financial agreements - of agribusiness, FDA and USDA we have lost the right to wholesome food. Through the North American Union we will lose the rest of the Constitution.
Big business is trumphing individual liberties. Big business funds, through lobbyists, government programs that are about advancing the profits of said big businesses. This is outside of the conventional usage of the word "capitalism".
We've lost the right to good medical care (this is not about universal healthcare) because of the way the pharmaceuticals and insurance industries have done as they please with the full cooperation of government.
Just wondering if any of you see it?

All of them, we will all have to wake up homeless and starving before the majority of the people even start to give a ****. Somehow the masses have convinced themselves that complacency and apathy is strength, and that change can never come.
Americans would much rather sit on a couch and watch the world go by on their TV. Taking action is just....too much for us.

That depends on how long Americans are willing to believe we need to give up our personal freedoms to be safe. As long as the government has the ability and the right (Patriot Act) to spy on us and jail us without due process, we will never be truly safe. Look back in history and see where other cultures gave up their freedoms before there was a war or revolution. Bush reminds me of Hitler and America is starting to remind me of pre-WWII Germany. The people were afraid of speaking up too much in case they were accused of being a Jew or a Socialist and thus being sent off to jail or some detention camp. In America now you have to be careful that someone doesn't list you as a terrorist sympathizer or funding terrorism by donating to an organization you think is to fund, say Afghani girls' schools, but turns out to fund Osama's best buddies. I think it will tak e a long time before Americans are willing to start a revolution to stop the loss of our rights as set forth in the Constitution. Too many Americans live by the saying "Don't rock the boat while you're in it." That is today's America so revoltuion will be a long time coming.

Just look to recent histories of revolutions. It usually takes quite a lot. China tried it but the revolution was small and squashed. Iran it may take twenty years or so but I'm sure they'll eventually revolt.

It will have to be combined with a recession or another depression. We won't notice losing our rights until we stop being blinded by our money and possessions.

We have become pretty complacent. It has been drilled into our skulls "Don't think" and we accept that idea. We have been tuned to think "we are the government" so we insert our own morals into what we would think officials would be like, blindly believing they wouldn't be corrupt, we only fool ourselves, and find ourselves to blame.
