DB Cash is an idiot. Did you even watch the game. Henderson went up for the block and wasn't even looking at Hansbrough when he hit him. It was completly accidental and nothing was meant by it. I can not believe they ejected him from the game ansd suspended him. It was not on purpose at all and if you would watch the replays it shows that. Hope this answered your question.

Hard Foul... no doubt. Henderson wasn't looking at hansbrough and his eyes where closed. Gerald Henderson was just going for the ball, I don't know why people think that Duke basketball is dirty. What reasons are there? Everyone at ESPN agrees with me, it wasn't a dirty foul.

When I read about it it sounded like just a hard foul, but when I saw it----definite cheap shot. The Duke guy's motion is totally unnatural it was a purposeful shot meant to hurt Hansbrough. Not the type of thing you expect from a Duke basketball team.

I would also have to agree with Joahua f. That was definitely a cheap shot. The ball was gone and Henerson's ELBOW ended up in Hansbrough's nose. To make a block you generally try to block it with your hand and not your elbow. Whomever doesn't see that as a cheap shot is an idiot. The reason everyone hates Duke basketball is for BS like this. If the game was at Duke they probably would have called the foul on Hansbrough!

Everyone saying it was just a hard foul is a MORON! If Gerald Henderson was trying to go for a "block" than he needs to have his scholarship revoked and kicked off the basketball team anyways because he sucks at basketball.
Seriously, he was trying to block the shot? Are you freagg'n kidding me?
Whenever I try and block a shot I ALWAYS end up with my hand on the BASKETBALL! Henderson's hand never came close to the basketball. In fact the ball popped out well before Henderson got to Hansbrough. THERE WAS NO BALL TO BLOCK! He could of just flown by Hansbrough like a guy who loses the ball on his way to attempting a layup. INSTEAD Henderson bends his arm and swings his elbow right into Hansbrough face. It's not even a swat attempt at the ball.
There's no gray area here. It was malicious, dirty, replusive and the kid should miss the rest of the season. For his own safety if not for his reprehensible act. If I'm a North Carolina player I go on a head hunting mission for Henderson and I go into the game to hurt his @ss.

It was intentional and a cheap shot. If you want to see it over and over again, link below.
Worse was Coach K's intimation that Tyler deserved it for being on the floor, and that it would not have happened if "those guys" had not still been on the floor.
For UNC, Tyler was the last first string player in, because of free throws, and Copeland was waiting to replace him. Even Dewey Burke was playing, a practice team guy - absolute end of the bench.
Duke, however, did have several starters in and they continued to foul down the clock, so UNC had to keep playing. Duke would not allow them to dribble the clock out.

Big UNC Fan here...but I really really believe that it was just a hard foul. He wasn't even looking at the Hansbrough. Of course Hansbrough would be pissed off that is a PAINFUL place to be elbowed! Although some angles it did look intentional, I truely believe it wasn't.

Most of you people are ignorant or just plain stupid. A "HARD FOUL", you are kidding me. Hard fouls happen in games all the time, how many players are left bleeding profusely after a hard foul? How many times does hard fouls break someones nose? He may not have been trying to break his nose, but he did plan on hurting him.

I have to agree with joshua f. the ball was long gone and henderson just did not care. after the ball passed his face u can see him close his eyes as to say he did not care the ball was gone he was going in for the foul either way... his 1 game suspension is not enough i don't think..

it was a hard foul because come on he wasn't trying to punch otherwise his fist would be closed and aiming for his head. but his elbow accidently hit his nose. no doubt he was trying to commit a hard foul so he wouldn't get he bucket and the foul but there was no intent to break his nose.
