Conservative myth #1 is liberals want abortion to be legal . Only fringe radical groups want this while the majority respect life and seek to educate young adults to use proper birth control while doing what comes natural . Sex is a natural act meant for the enjoyment of one two or more people and not for the creation of life . That is the side benefit from sex . Which I have a feeling most conservatives avoid .

Conservative myth #2 is that liberals want guns taken away from people when nothing is farther from the truth . The proper ownership and care needed for gun owner ship should be limited to those people who would not harm themselves or others if allowed to have a gun . I firmly believe some people should not have guns . This is not a blanket people should not have guns just some people . I think we can all agree that convicted violent offenders should not have guns . I would like to add that anyone who does not complete high school should also be prohibited from owning a gun .

Conservative myth #3 is that liberals want a weak defense system when in fact we want policy in foreign matters not to be determined by the military . That technology permits the targeting of any ships that come withing a hundred miles of our shores . With an expensive yet simply system we can repel all invaders . We are already prepared . How much more money needs to go to this bottomless pit ????

Myth # 4 is that liberals want to give your money to other people . Seeing as how we are all in this together and not as individuals it only makes sense to care for the less fortunate among use . How we manage this is open to debate . Seeing as how conservatives would allow people to starve to death in front of them we must implement a plan that once and for all solves the problem . Yes some people will get the proverbially free ride but how satisfying can it be . .

I happen to be pro choice, but abortion is NOT a form of birth control. I respect anyone's right to pursue their own sexual jollies, but physiologically the purpose of sex is pro creation.....hello is there anyone at home??

I'm beginning to question whether you should be allowed to have a gun!! And what does graduating from high school have to do with it? I dropped out of HS & never graduated, but have a BA degree & would match intellects with you on any subject on my worst day!!

I find that there is little tolerance on both sides. It is impossible to find moderation...at least on this forum. The accusations that conservatives make of liberals would make you believe that they are a desperate enemy of the country. And if conservatives TRULY believed that, I'm amazed that civil war has not broken out in the country. Afterall, how could you live in a place whose Congress is controlled by baby murdering, satanic communists?

Its all just so much bluff and fluff from the conservatives...and if they truly believed all the crap they spewed about liberals, then it would be the 'American Way' to seek out and destroy them. Without that taking place, I submit that they spend hours each day thinking up nasty names...like children in a school yard.

Instead of teaching safe sex, why not teach abstinence? The problem with abortion, is abortion is being used as birth control. So instead of condoning wanton free sexcapades, teach the dangers of free sex.

There already is a system in place for potential gun owners, they have them checked for things like felonies and mental problems. Creating stricter gun laws just keeps law abiding normal, healthy people from purchasing guns, not criminals. Criminals are going to break the law regardless concerning gun laws.

Barack Obama belongs to an anti gun group here in Illinois and has stated he wants all firearms banned.
I agree felons shouldnt have guns and they cant own them legally in any state now...Just like anyone who has been admitted to a mental institution in the last 5 years here cant own one.
I don't agree with your highschool statement...I know a few people who have dropped out received a ged and are more responsible then a lot of high school grads i know.

#2 is funny. If you take a look around lately, the environmentalist movement is starting to embrace hunters. Who tend to be the best environmentalists? Look at Ducks Unlimited, et. al and you will see the common ground there. The NRA is different. No one hunts with a mini-gun from a freakin' huey. There is a difference.

What one would consider "normal" is far from those who have shown the lack of normality with some of the answers here. You are correct, responsibility should be a "proof" before one could have the so-called "right" to own weapons or create a family of disarray that the tax payers will inherit and support.

Abortion is legal because the Constitution prevents the government from intruding on a citizen's privacy. NOBODY wants to give the government the power to make medical decisions.
