WiFi just creates a wireless network with your existing Internet service. It's not an Internet service delivery technology.

Well I just got wi-fi at my house and well its only free if you go to the library or a coffee shop. I am sorry but free Internet for wi-fi is not something you can get like when it first started. God I remember the good old days. but even then all your information about you can be taken by the person using your Internet connection. This is now why you have to buy it. I go through my phone company (DSL) the box they gave me for my desk top has a wireless router in it. So now I can be on my laptop and my husband on the desk top without any lagging at all plus I can plug in 4 other computers and have no problems at all. Oh yeah and I get all my phone calls as well.
