Is it possible to "cut" or "copy" from one window to another?--?

Have tried to do this numerous times "cutting" or "copying" from a received e-mail to an e-mail I have composed---and each time the "paste" option is not available--Do I have some setting wrong--or am I just not following the correct procedure?

cut/copying/pasting a text (such as url, file name, etc..) works from one machine to another. It won't work if you try to copy/move the file itself.

try using ctrl + c and ctrl + p

else try using the right click mouse cut and paste, I sometimes need to do that else it won't copy

From time to time you may have to try either the *browser*'s Edit button or the right-click on your mouse...
