Yes! You are probably ovulating!! Ovulation (releasing the egg) happens about 11-16 days before your period and that means you are FERTILE!* Your body is wanting you to get some so you will get pregnant and increase the number of humans in the world. I would masturbate and exercise like crazy. I avoid sex during this time 'cause that is about the only time I can get pregnant, I don't want to. Good luck! I'm fertile right now and it's KILLING me. I understand your pain. Go buy some toys :).
*This whole paragraph is meaningless if you are on the pill. If you are on the pill, you don't ovulate, and aren't fertile. The book cited in the source talks about all this.

I experience extreme sexual arousal about a week before my period begins. When i was in high school i never experienced this arousal effect. It wasn't until i entered college that it became apparrent. It is so extreme that it helps me to know when my period is about to begin. From what i can tell there is nothing you can take to reduce this effect. It may sound crazy but the best way to eliminate that frustration is probably to have sex. Sex might speed up when your period will begin. However i'm not a doctor but i'm just speaking from experience.

If you get aroused 2 weeks before your period that´s more than likely when you´re ovulating so it makes perfect sense. I don´t know of anything you can take to eliminate the effect.

yes. 2 weeks before your period your hormones change. You are more likely to conceive at this time, so biologically you get more aroused. It's normal

That is pretty normal. I think it means that you are ovulating. If you are sexually active and have a partner...HAVE FUN! (be safe though). If your flying solo or don't have a partner...take care of yourself...there's no shame in that.

Why would you want to eliminate it?
Just tell your partner what you need.
Mine was the week before and the week of my period. Husband loved it...............
