Yes, rats can and love to go through tunnels of any kind. You can use cheap PVC pipe from Home Depot as well.
Things to look for with this used cage: How wide are the bars? Can your rats escape from it? Is the floor of the cage solid? Wire cage bottoms can cause problems with rat's feet (called bumblefoot) so plain plastic bottoms are better than wire bottoms. How hard will it be to keep clean? That's a big consideration...if it's too big and awkward to keep clean, that's not good for you or your rats!!
$200 sounds like a lot, but of course it depends on the cage. I'd shop around if I were you and see what else is available in your area (or online) before commiting to the used one.
Rats like a lot of space, so the bigger the cage you can get for them, the happier they will be!

Yes, a rat can go through the ferret tunnels. However, a used $200 cage is absolutely ridiculous. Someone is trying to get some money from you. At $200, I would say definately buy a new cage.

i would buy that cage i bought my ferret cage brand new for almost 200 and it is only 4 levels so yeah thats good. i think the rat should be fine depending on how big it is bc some of the ferret tunnels are high above the floor so you might think if your rat can reach but other than that it should give it lots to do and lots of exercise.

A ferret cage is ok for a rat but be aware of the bar sizes. We had to put chicken wire around the bars on the cage we used for the rat to ensure they did not escape. Also remember rats do tend to gnaw so if the tunnels you are talking about are plastic the rat could chew through them and likely will do so.

as far as I know, rats CAN go through ferret tunnels. I never seen a rat do it- but I had a rat, and they can generally go through almost any tunnel- or obsitacle course- they are very smart and agile.
ferrets are bigger- so you shouldn't worry about the rat not being able to get through.
whether you should buy this particular cage? I dont' know, I have no idea how much cages cost in US and such...
anyway, hope you and your rat have a good time :)

yes a rat can go through a ferret tunnel, the cage , if in good condition is well worth the two hundre dollars, if you go and buy one at the pet store they are around 4 or 5 hundred dollars for the kind you are describing, and your ferret will love it.

I bought a 6 level ferret cage at the store, brand new for $200.00. I would first check the prices at pet stores for the same or simular cages to see if you are realy getting a deal. Also find out what happened to the feret that used to live in the cage. If it was sick I would have to pass on the cage.

Your rat will be able to squeez right through the bars on that cage. I would buy a cage specifically tailored to rats.
