There is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

The Universe is basically a created entity. If the mass structures were to expand in the volume of the Universe , it would be inside its containment.
Scientist have not yet fathonmed the actural size of space containment,so there is a lot more space to expand in than can be imagined. If the Universe was to expand at more than 2 astronomical units per sec the radius of the universe would still be increasing relatively to a negligible value.
