Like computer how can I install Operating Systems (Symbian or linux mobile OS) in a Mobile ?

We know how to install an operating system in a computer, but what is the process of installing an OS in a mobile phone? What tools and softwares are needed? Is it posible to install an OS in my Nokia3230 mobile myself through my PC? please help.

very good question but I do'nt know.. Better you buy a 3310 nokia.. no downloand nothing.. dont mind ha..
