How do you get gray out of white clothes?

I know you are not talking about yellow, but in the detergent section of most stores there is an item called "yellow out". I am not sure how it works, but it torns your clothes from dingy to snow white. You put your white clothing items into the washing machine on very warm or hot water with about 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup of that stuff and wow does it turn your clothes white.
It is not as harsh as bleach and works like a dream.

hello there, well I keep my whites white by not adding any bleach to the washing machine, I think what you might like to try is this . The good old fashioned bar soap you can find this in most hardware stores and supermarkets. ´t´s really good for white shirts, the collar & cuffs sweat stains, kids socks, any clothing at all . I just wet the garment or garments in cold water then give a really good rub with the soap, if the stains or color is very bad leave free from the water for 1 hr , then wet again add some more soap then straight to the machine & wash as normal. The best thing really for making your clothes whiter than white is the sun, as it bleaches your clothes the natural way . So when ever possible get them out into the sun and you will notice the difference I hope this helps you a little

Sometimes bleach isn't going to get them that white like the first time you bought them, so there is a white wash dye you can bye in the stores like walmart. Also using bleach to get them white you need the sun to help thats where they get a little brighter.
