Studies have shown that the scariest thing to do is to get up in front of people to either sing, speak or act. I know exactly how you feel. Many moons ago, I used to sing in front of people and once I started and I heard my own voice reassuring me that I was on-key and in sync with the music, my adrenalin took over and everything came out just fine. I don't know if it will help, but a trick the toastmasters use to offset nervousness is to imagine that everybody in the audience is sitting there in their underwear. That works for some, but for me it was the bright lights. I focused my attention on them and ignored the audience. Good luck; you'll do just fine.

I can't sing, but I used to have to occasionally speak in front of large groups of people, and I don't like that much attention....These two things helped me a lot. First, practice. Make sure your song (or presentation in my case) is second-nature to you. Second, pick about a half-dozen people in different spots around the audience during your performance, and sing directly to them for a few seconds each in turn. Make eye contact with them. You will see that, even though they are enjoying your song, the direct attention you give them makes them a little nervous, too. I think this is human nature. When that happens, you'll feel more in control and relaxed.

I used to be extremely shy in front of people, so I would close my eyes while I sang. It really helped me to concentrate on my song and not the people looking at me. Now, I have no problems standing in front of people.

Take a deep breath and share your God-given voice with the congregation!! (Also, look right above their heads so it appears you are making eye contact without it making you more nervous.)
I don't have to wish you luck because He will be with you ;-)

Just relax and know that God is pleased with your effort, and not with your ability.
