Talking a walk works pretty good and it helps keep the weight off if you are anything like me and have to have something in my mouth to replace the cigarette. I quit smoking almost a month ago and I have also found that Ice water seems to help quite a bit. Keeping busy is one of the best things you can do. You are always going to get thoughts here and there, it is what you do to get past the thoughts of wanting a cigarette. It will get easier with time (that is what I keep telling myself). Congratulations on quitting. Keep up the good work and don't give in to the voices in your head.

Some of these may sound stupid - but since I quit smoking on New Years Eve 2007 (yes, trite, but true) I may be able to help...
DON'T hang out with your old still-smoking pals in the usual places.
DO go outside with co-workers and take a walk to just breathe! Feel how good the fresh air is! (Yeah, I know, but our minds are sometimes silly and you can trick it into forgetting about smoking!)
If you drink alcohol, or coffee and you have usual habits, you will need to replace those habits. They become triggers for the smoking.
For example, I usually had a cigarette with my husband outside on our back porch immediately after dinner. It was a nice way to finish our meal, gave us a spot of time to connect without the kids listening, and just to relax. (We didn't smoke in our home because of the kids, anyway).
I had to replace that habit with something else, and he had to find other times to be with me and NOT smoke.
I couldn't have any alcohol for a good few weeks because THAT was a trigger for me, too. Now, I can play cards with friends, and have a drink and not feel the urge to get up and have one.
Chewing gum or celery & carrot sticks "could" help.
Here's one I don't recommend: I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the end of January.
Whether it was caused by my smoking or not...I wouldn't pick up another cigarette for ANYTHING.
Please let me either a good example for you or a horrible warning.
Hang in there - it DOES get easier, I promise.

you can chew this type of gum called Nicotine. Also, you should start a hobby that could keep your mind off of cigarettes.
And also, stay away from where they sell cigarettes in the supermarket.

Chew a piece of gum, or have some hard candy when you get the urge. I hear hypnosis helps, and maybe even acupuncture. Best of luck to you.
