I don't like Carolina or Duke (in fact I had turned the game off and saw the blow on sportscenter.
Here's why it's a dirty play...
He came from across the lane.
The guys already got 2 Duke guys guarding him.
There's 2 plays in the lane 1. strip the ball down low or 2. block the shot up high.
The ball was loose on the original foul, so the only play would be the block and the guy never extended his arm up.
Plus he followed through with the blow.
Not saying none of you have played, but anyone out there has more control of his arms than that 'accidental' forearm.

No...and he didn't get elbowed in the face...for the heel fan that posted that. The ball wasn't on the ground. Just stop it Heels fans.
Duke fans...stop crying about T.H. even being in the game. Most coaches don't even think about that stuff. Only when it's an extreme rivalry where there is bad blood between schools is the only time you even hear of it. It's not a problem.
I can't stand either team...by the way...and I really can't stand Duke. I'm a Kentucky Wildcat fan. So you know I don't side with Duke at all. But in this case I have too.
It WAS, however, an intentional foul. Henderson went up to block the ball, but Hansbrough got mugged from behind, keeping him from elavating and the ball streamed out of the picture. That's why he was hit in the face by a wrist/base of Henderson's palm as it was coming down attempting to block the shot. Had he not got mugged from behind, the shot would have gotten blocked, and still fouled. Henderson was collapsing too fast and was already in air and as he was coming into for the contact...he closes his eyes. Check it out on the slow-mo replay. But the fact is Henderson was coming in hard and fast to prevent the shot...intentional foul. Hansbrough just happened to be in a different place then he should have been. But regardless, there was no intent to harm on that play.

There's a huge difference between watching the clip in live speed and slow motion, if you watch it full speed, there's no doubt it was an accident, there's no way he coulda stopped himself when he was moving that fast. watching it in slow motion makes you think he could have held back, but I'm sure no one here has ever found themselves moving that fast and then trying to stop.... so ppl that say it was intentional just hate him b/c he's on Duke, not because they think it was...
Also, he's the most athletic player on the Duke Team... and that's Duke's biggest weakness this year, so basicly, him and DeMarcus are the 2 more important players on the team b/c everyone else is slow and fat... Even my UNC fan friends (unfortunately I'm like the only Dukie in my school) agree it wasn't intentional...

Whether it was intention or not, it was still a flagrant foul. I personally think that wasn't intentional and was a mere accident. However, the referee made a good decision to eject him to stop the situation from escalating or getting any worse.

i think of he would be fortunate if he does not get yet another activity or 2 suspenion out of this from the NCAA. I see that foul as intentional because of fact a) The ball replaced into already bouncing on the floor back whilst the Duke participant got here as much as block/rebound it, and b) on the grounds that whilst do you rebound jointly with your elbows? I examine yet another remark at here asserting that UNC wouldn't have had starters in. Who do you decide on in then? Their reserves that could desire to not additionally be stated as that because of fact they're in simple terms as sturdy to be starters too? confident, Tyler in all probability could desire to have been cheering from the bench, yet that's not the communicate.

He deserves to have the entire North Carolina team jump his punk @ss.
I hate North Carolina hate them, but that was such a dirty play I want to go whip Henderson's @ss. There is no place for that in college basketball
100% Dukie,
I'm not a former college basketball player. But I've played with former college players and even a former NBA player. My point is I've played at a high level, I've played at that speed. YOU HAVE TO react to the ball that quickly or you can't play on that level. If you were as slow as Henderson was on that play you'd get juked right out of your jock everytime someone gave you a head fake or a shimmy. Henderson knew what he was doing, it's disgusting people try and defend him

last time i checked when you try to block a shot you don't elbow the guy in the face as hard as you can. Therefore the call was correct and he should have been suspended for a game because Hansbrough could have been seriously injured.
I mean duke was getting their azz kicked by their arch rivals and he was probably pissed they beat them both times this year and this one wasn't even close. Gerald Henderson is a thug and if UNC plays duke in the ACC tournament he better watch his back because what goes around comes around.
GO HEELS!!!

It was the most flagrant and vicious foul I've ever seen in college basketball.
It was clear to me that the Duke player *wanted* to hurt Hansborough; Why? Because Hansborough had just had an outstanding game for Carolina. Pure and simple revenge on the Duke player's part.

The ball was already on the ground when Henderson went to hit it, i think he meant to hit hansbrough, because he is one of Carolina's best players. I'm am so glade he got ejected from the game, & he is also suspended from there next game. GO CAROLINA!!

first of all if the guy was trying to block the shot, his arm would have been extended and you dont try to block a shot with your elbow . second of all hansbrough shouldnt have been in the game
