By having better descriptions, ensure that you answer all possible questions. Imagine you were looking at the advert thinking about buynig it and then answer all the questions you may have.
Let people pay by a more varied types of payment and ensure that you offer payment by paypal. There are loads of people who will not bid if the item can not be paid for my paypal.
Have it well advertised.
Ensure that the title contains stuff that people may search for if they were looking for what you are selling or something very similar to what you are selling.

Don't lower the price, try having captivating headlines and descriptions, and end it on Sunday evenings, when most people are home.

A good description & pics...depends on what your selling really, if you can clean the thing your selling do that .(eg. a car you'd polish up) & take some really good pics & close ups.
Make sure you put what your selling in the right category : )

keep going, as your rating goes up with positive feedback more people will buy from you.
Also make sure you have plenty of pictures and a very accurate description of the item
