I heard they only teach evolution, but not creationism. Isn't this unfair?

Creationism (or, its euphemism "Intelligent Design") is a religious doctrine. It is not science. In the United States the courts have ruled on this many times. There is no scientific evidence to support creationism and there is a very large amount of scientific evidence to support evolution. That is why, if you look at the curriculum of the biology departments of all the universities in America, the students take courses in Evolution, and never take science courses in Creationism. (Although there may be some philosophy or psychology courses that examine why people believe in creationism when there is no evidence for it.)

In the USA the constitution forbids the government from establishing any official religion. The courts have ruled many times that forcing science teachers to present creationism would be illegal under this rule. The most recent case was in Pennsylvania last year when a very right-wing, conservative Republican judge appointed by President Bush severely criticized a group of local authorities in a small Pennsylvania town who attempted to interfere with the science teachers to force them to teach creationism/intelligent design.

There is no rule that forces private universities or private secondary schools to follow this government ruling. They could teach Creationism in science class if they want to, but I do not know of any colleges that do so. Even the most religious schools teach Evolution in their biology classes as far as I know. Some schools, such as the famous and elite catholic university Notre Dame actually have entire departments of their biology sections that focus on Evolution.

A lecture room of subject remember X could desire to have its coursework desperate with the help of the experts interior the sector of X. So if there are no biology experts asserting creationism could desire to study in a biology class, then go away it out. hear to virtually all of experts! coaching creationism in faculties wastes time that should overview on different issues. no longer in simple terms could desire to creationism no longer be in biology lecture rooms, in spite of the incontrovertible fact that it needs to stay out of math, fitness center and abode economics too! There are some lecture rooms which could make room for creationism without lessoning practise: A mythology class, or a debate class. (Creationist arguments provide solid examples of logical fallacies for discovering the thank you to talk.) countless creationist have faith that evolution finally ends up in devil, so as that they have got an schedule to place creationism into technology lecture rooms to "save human beings from devil and evolution." that's misguided; yet i do no longer think of that creationism in school is aimed in the direction of people who already have faith in it, as you look to intend besides.

creationism is a bible thing, to teach it would be to teach religious propaganda, so it IS fair not to teach it in public schools. if you want your kids learning creationism, put them in a private school. i'd rather have mine learning facts & science, like evolution.

creationism may be theory, but evolution is a *scientific* theory

Creation and Evolution are both theories. In my opinion, intelligent design should be taught side by side to Evolution..........no creationism is not taught in the "West"
