1)

let the point on x-axis be (x,0)
now u can solve easily by applying section formula
answer is m1:m2=4:7

2)

ratio of vol= 1/3pi r^2 h / 1/3pi R^2h= r^2/R^2 = (r/R)^2= (3/5)^2=9/25

vol of smal cone : vol of big cone = 9:25

3) i cant solve 3rd one

1. The line passing through (6,4) and (1,-7) has a slope of 11/5.
Its equation is y = 11x/5 -46/5. It crosses the x-axis at (46/11,0)
The distance fro (6,4) to (46/11,0) is sqrt((6-46/11)^2+ 4^2). The distance from (46/11,0) to (1,-7) is sqrt((46/11-1)^2+7^2). So just
divide the first distance by the second distance and you have the required ratio.

2. V1 = 1/3 pi (r1)^2h
Since r1/r2 = 3/5, r2 = 5r1/3, so
V2 = 1/3 pi (5/3r1)^2h
V1/V2 = r1^2/(25/9)r1^2 = 9/25

3. If those ' signs mean degrees, then
sin^2 5 = .007596
sin^210 = .0301
sin^2 85 = .992
sin^2 90 = 1
So 1.992 + x = 19/2
So x = 19/2 -1.992 = 7.51
This was a strange problem.
