No doubt it takes a tremendous ammount of strength and atleticism, but isn't it more stage combat than sport?

it all depends on who you ask. I look at it alot like cheerleading. yes it does take an athlete to do it, but I don't think i would define it as a sport because a lot of it is staged

Yes it is staged. A sport is a competition between two sides that either encompasses physical, mental or both attributes. There is no competition in "pro wrestling" because it is scripted. It is the male version of the soap opera, except it is live. It can be fun to watch, but it has it's ups and downs just like soap operas and boxing.

Athletic exhibibion but entertaining.

Wrestling like the WWE is NOT a sport. A sport is a team or person competing against each other WITHOUT knowing the outcome.
The WWE has athletic people in the "ring" but they are not particpating in a sport.

I consider an athletic exhibition, but the wrestlers must be work their bodys like any other deportist.

it's more sports entertainment. it's not really a sport, because it's all thought out previously, it's not just a think as you go kind of thing. And it is extremely entertaining.
