last wend i was told my baby was still floating free, and friday i swear i felt him drop, which was confirmed at my dr. appt this morning, because he is now at -3 station, i think i was told that the stations start at -4 right??? so is it normal for him to drop so quickly? i mean, ill be 39 weeks tommorow, and this being my first i expected it alot sooner, because i was told in a first time mother the baby drops 2-4 weeks before delievery, and im not prepared for another 2-4 weeks of this! the other issue we've been having is im still not a cm dialated, but i have been dialating since 36 weeks, my dr. believes that im going to be a lucky first time mom, and have no progress until i go into labour, and then i will have a quick labour, any facts supporting her theory? Thanks for the answers...i need them

Now the fun starts. Just relax - your baby will be here when he/she is ready - don't try and over-control the situation. Every prgnancy is different so nobody know for certain how it will happen. My wife had a very quick progression from one stage to the next. The more relaxed you are - the faster and easier it goes.

About a week or so after dropping the baby usually comes. Your not in labor so you shouldnt be dialating yet. When you start dialating your in labor.I dont understand how you can be dialating since 36 weeks yet not dialated a cm? First babies usually take longer then the others. If you havent yet you will start nesting, this is where you wash and clean everything or have lots of engery to go walking etc. When you wipe watch for your mulcus plug ( or however you spell it) which will be pink/red. Within 24 hours or less you should go into labor. Your doctor has no way of knowing how short or long your labor will be. But by learning whats going on you can make it less painful, the less you know about whats going on the more scare you are and the more you tighten up and the more painful it becomes. When labor does start dont go to the hospital right away, besides the fact hospitals are full of germs, and sick people there boring!! Visit friends/family, clean/ wash or take care of last min things. Go shopping for the babies outfit to come home in,etc. When you start having "pain" try soaking in a warm bath if your water hasnt broken. Then they pains are about 5 mins apart they said go to the hospital, but be prepaid to be bored for many hours. Bring cards or something. After your water breaks or after they break your water you dialated faster, so when your about a 5 or 6 ask them to break your water. Good luck and congulations!

Do you mean to say that you have been effacing since 36 weeks but you aren't dialating yet? I've heard that the baby usually drops between a couple days to a couple of weeks before delivery in first time moms, not 2-4 weeks. I wouldn't be too concerned, it sounds like you should be fine since stuff is actually happening. I'm very experienced in going overdue and being induced...so I can say with confidence you have nothing to worry about! Usually when babies engage it does happen quickly like that.

Just from my experience with my first child, I didn't dilate until the day I had him. I was in labor for 4 hours, so maybe you are a lucky mom like me. Don't worry, you will know when it is time to go in. Most 1st time mom's have the baby early, not all. I had mine on the due date. Just depends on when the baby is ready to come out into the new world.
Congrats and good luck.

Your cervix needs to thin out before it starts dialating and you have about 3 more stages to go... go walking!! that will help it along... you dont want to be overdue!! I had my baby at 37 weeks and she was 6lbs 12oz.... so if you are wanting to have him anyday now instead of waiting 2 more weeks.. then go walk!! =) Congrats!!!

i imagine its significant to seem at what keep the receipt is from as well as what replaced into offered. it might want to furnish you with clues as to if he replaced into skipping artwork to do something he shouldnt were doing. If its something basic, like groceries, perhaps the time replaced into incorrect. attempt to picture back to at the same time as he offered the object on the receipt. perhaps its from a grant keep and he had to %. something up for his workplace? If that doesnt help, i might want to call, or bypass to the keep, and ask the cashiers if the time is in many situations correct and that i might want to enquire about the object that replaced into offered on the receipt. once back, if its something minute, I wouldnt worry about. yet of course if its something that he shouldnt were procuring then you fairly might want to actual deliver it up.
