Actually Boston is actually located (according to a story in the Massachusetts Audobon magazine) in an ancient volcanic crater, the sides of which have eroded into hills (quite noticable as you fly into the city) that ring the city that are up to a little more than 600 feet high. Inside the city there are a couple of hills (Parker Hill being the most notable) that rise 150 to 200 feet. The ancient geological processes also produced a unique stone found no where else, called Roxbury puddingstone, which is seen as part of some of the outcroppings.

There are a few very small (200 ft) hills in the Boston area - the Arnold Arboretum has a couple high points w/great views of Boston. Just to the South of Boston is the Blue Hills reservation. There are 22 hills (none over 700 feet) on a 7000 acre park. There's even a tiny ski area there. Just north of Boston (in Saugus) there is the Breakheart Reservation, a smaller park w/hills hitting almost 300 feet.

The Blue Hills reservation area is outside Boston proper about 20 mins. It is in Milton close to Hyde Park line. Hyde Park is part of Boston. There are walking trails to a lookout point as well as the oldest continuous running weather station in the United States. There is an Audubon trailside museum as well as some animals outside for you to see for free. Hawks, a snowly owl, a river otter and deer are there for you to see and enjoy. Great place to bring the kids.

You mean like Bunker Hill? Or Breed's Hill (where the battle of Bunker Hill actually took place)?
